Course Description: Sociology is the study of individuals and society and their impact upon each other. This course will provide an overview of the principles, concepts, and methods of sociology. Focuses will include socialization, social groups, stratification, social institutions, society and culture. A global perspective is included in conjunction with examining U.S. society, and current events will be incorporated into the course to allow students the ability to understand social phenomena as it applies to the real world.
